SSI Open Water Diver Course

The SSI Open Water Diver certification is internationally recognized and the perfect way to start your journey as a certified diver – an experience that will stay with you for life.

At our dive school, the course is led by experienced instructors who speak both German and English, ensuring clear communication and a comfortable learning environment.

Through a combination of personal guidance and hands-on training, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to become a safe and capable diver. After completing the course, you’ll be certified to dive anywhere in the world, up to a depth of 18 meters with a dive buddy.

Your way to become a certified diver

At DiveHeaven Lombok, your SSI Open Water Diver course is the perfect way to start your diving journey – combining a relaxed island vibe with professional training and personal guidance.

We teach in small groups of maximum 4 students, so your instructor has time to focus on each individual and guide you at your own pace. The course is led by our experienced instructors who speak both English and German, ensuring a comfortable and clear learning experience.

The course is divided into three parts: theory, confined water training, and open water dives. This structure allows you to build up your skills step by step and gain confidence at your own pace – all while exploring the stunning underwater world around Lombok.

1. Theory

You can complete the SSI theory online at your own pace – even before your holiday begins. This flexible option lets you prepare comfortably from home. Once you're with us on-site, we’ll go through key concepts together and deepen your understanding of diving theory through personal support and discussions.

2. Confined Water Training

We begin this part of the course in shallow water where you can stand at any time. This gives you the chance to get comfortable with the equipment and ease into the feeling of breathing underwater. You’ll learn essential skills, and over time, you’ll feel more confident and relaxed while diving.

3. Open Water Dives

To complete the course, you’ll need to do four open water dives, for which we take the boat to some of the region’s peaceful and scenic islands – ideal for beginner diving.

The first two dives are done at a maximum depth of 12 meters, followed by two dives down to 18 meters, the certification limit for Open Water Divers.

We visit a variety of beginner-friendly dive sites that offer a truly colorful and vibrant underwater world – perfect for gaining confidence and experiencing the joy of diving.
